This privacy notice explains how Claire Foss, trading as FOSS Nutrition and Health Unprocessed, collects, uses and protects your personal information when you visit this website, book a consultation, join a programme or contact me by email or phone.
I am committed to protecting your personal information and handling it responsibly. If you have any questions or concerns about how your personal data is processed, please contact me using the details below. I will do my best to address and resolve your concerns promptly. 2. What information I collect
I collect only what I need to provide safe, effective nutritional therapy and to run my practice properly.
Identity and contact data: your name, address, email address and phone number.
Health data: medical history, symptoms, test results, supplements, medications and other information you share with me as part of your consultation and Health Optimisation Plan. This is special category data under UK GDPR and I only collect and use it with your explicit consent, given through my GDPR Consent Form.
Consultation and programme data: notes from our sessions, your goals, progress and any documents or test results you choose to share with me.
Payment data: I do not collect card details. Payment is made by bank transfer or cash, and I keep only the records needed for invoicing and my own accounts.
Marketing data: your name and email address if you sign up for my newsletter, register for a free resource or ask to be kept informed about programmes and events.
Website usage data: standard technical data collected through cookies when you browse my site. See the separate Cookie Policy for details.
3. How I collect your information
Directly from you, by email, phone, consultation forms and the GDPR Consent Form.
Through my website, when you fill in a contact form, book a call through Calendly or download a free resource.
From other healthcare providers or your GP, but only where you have given me explicit permission to contact them or to receive information from them.
4. How and why I use your information
I use your information for the following purposes, and only on the legal grounds set out below.
To provide your consultations and Health Optimisation Plan. Legal basis: performance of a contract with you, and your explicit consent for any health data involved.
To keep accurate clinical records as required by my professional bodies, BANT and CNHC. Legal basis: legal obligation and legitimate interest in maintaining safe, professional practice.
To liaise with your GP or other healthcare providers. Legal basis: your explicit consent, given through the GDPR Consent Form. You can withdraw this consent at any time.
To send newsletters, promotional offers or event information. Legal basis: your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by contacting me directly.
To manage invoicing and bookkeeping. Legal basis: legal obligation and performance of a contract.
To share anonymised case histories for professional development, such as clinical supervision or educational purposes. Legal basis: consent, given through the GDPR Consent Form. Your name, address and contact details are never shared.
To run and improve this website. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
I will never sell your personal data, and I will never use your health data for marketing purposes.
5. Who I share your information with
Other healthcare providers or your GP, only with your explicit consent.
My accountant and any professional advisers who need access to run my business properly.
Service providers who support my practice, such as Wix for my website and Calendly for bookings. These providers only process data on my instructions.
I will only share your information with anyone else where the law requires or allows it.
6. Where your data is stored
Some of the tools I use, such as Wix and Calendly, may store data on servers outside the UK. Where this happens, I only use providers that maintain appropriate safeguards for your data, in line with UK GDPR requirements.
7. How long I keep your information
I keep clinical and consultation records for as long as recommended by my professional bodies, BANT and CNHC, to meet my professional and insurance obligations. Financial records are kept for six years, in line with HMRC requirements. If you withdraw consent for marketing, I will stop using your data for that purpose straight away, though I may need to keep a record that you asked to be removed.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
Ask what personal data I hold about you and request a copy.
Ask me to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Ask me to delete your data, where I am not required to keep it for legal or professional reasons.
Object to how I use your data.
Ask me to restrict how I use your data.
Ask for your data to be transferred to another provider.
Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis for processing.

9. Keeping your information secure
I take appropriate steps to protect your personal information from loss, misuse or unauthorised access, including secure storage of clinical notes and restricted access to your records. If a data breach occurs that affects your rights, I will notify you and the ICO where I am legally required to.
